Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has gathered information of around 18 lakh tenants and two lakh of house owners in the capital.
The information was disclosed through a press conference at DMP media center on Saturday.
DMP in its citizen information management system (CIMS) gathered the information of 6,234,547 dwellers of Dhaka. Of them, 242,506 are house owners and 1,820,098 are tenants.
The DMP is observing information collection week (June 15 to June 21) to curb criminal activities in Dhaka. Police will collect information from 50 police stations. Later, eight teams from DMP headquarters will crosscheck the information.
DMP started collecting information through CIMS after the militant attack in Gulshan in 2016.
